BUTTERFLY PAVILION
CLEMSON SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE
The process of designing and building the butterfly pavilion saw much involvement of community members. The design was carefully thought out and structured to support a massive yet elegant roof that gradually tapers at the back end. The panels that make up the roof mimic butterfly wings in how the corners are slightly turned out to let in sunlight and a breeze. The pavilion was tied back into the park through the multi color paint job of the roof to match the adjacent fence that was earlier painted by children in the neighborhood.
